Shirley Clure
Shirley Clure was born and raised in Council, Idaho. Growing up in the beauty and magnificence of the Idaho Mountains gave Shirley the inspiration to recreate her surroundings in her artwork.
Shirley studied art at Boise State University and the University of New Mexico. She also received instruction from many national and international art instructors. Shirley owned and operated an art gallery in the Boise area for many years. She taught art classes at the gallery and other locations for almost twenty years.
Shirley is a member of the Idaho Watercolor Society, Nampa Art Guild, Treasure Valley Art Guild, and Hells Canyon Art Guild. She has received awards for her artwork in many shows for both her watercolor, as well as her oil paintings.
Shirley’s paintings and prints have been collected by many businesses and individuals. Her collectors include: the Company of J.R. Simplot, Albertsons, St. Lukes, various Real Estate Companies, Law Firms, and many other private collectors. Many of her collectors have created Christmas cards made from her paintings. These cards have been distributed to thousands of people all over the world.
Searching for the serenity of her childhood Shirley’s has moved her studio back to the “heartland” of Idaho. Her studio in the mountains brings her the tranquility she desires to relay peace, beauty, and serenity to the viewer of her artwork.
