Dan has been painting professionally since 1975. His emphasis is on combining real world scenes with the moods and textures of nature. By utilizing mixed media, watercolor, oil, acrylic, pen & ink, gouache, and collage, Dan’s goal and passion is to create excellent artwork with a unique and breath-taking perspective.
Dan is listed in the upcoming 2011 editions of Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in the West. He was also a nominee for the 2010 Idaho Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. In 1999, Dan published his first book, “ARTWORKS,” a 52-page book of original art including 28 full-color images, with narrative and interview. Copies of “ARTWORKS” and many of Dan’s paintings and art prints have been purchased by corporations and individuals from all fifty states as well as over 20 foreign countries.
Dan’s artwork has been included in such exhibitions as Watercolor USA, American Watercolor Society, Boise Museum of Art, Kimball Art Center, Utah, numerous universities, over 45 one-man shows in Europe, and the Idaho Watercolor Society of which Dan was a charter member and first regular President. Former Idaho Governor, Dirk Kempthorne, presented Dan’s paintings as gifts to the Mayors of Brighton, England, London, England, and Paris, France.
