I grew up in Idaho camping, fishing, racing motorcycles and watching my
father do countless detailed drawings of people and animals. I always
wanted to draw like him so I spent a lot of time doing small pencil drawings
of trucks and motorcycles. While in high school, I entered the Ore-Ida
Christmas Card Art Contest where I won "Best in Show."
After graduation I worked in a mill for a few years before I decided to
go to school to study art. I started out in Architecture but quickly
realized that my brain wasn't designed to comprehend physics. Graphic
Design was a much better fit. While at Treasure Valley Community College, I
designed several flyers and t-shirts for events such as the "National Old
Time Fiddlers' Festival" as well as cartooning for the Boise Merchant Map.
I also earned scholarships and went on to the University of Oregon
graduating with a B. A. in Visual Design in 1992.
Shortly thereafter, I began my own business called Liquid Art Designs.
Since then I've been doing airbrush work on trucks, helmets, snowmobiles and
water craft for professional riders and racers across the country.
Recently I received my teaching certificate from Boise State University
and began teaching art classes in the Meridian school district. Now my
focus is mostly on my wife, my 3 year old boy and my artwork. Though
graphite is my strongest medium, my work with oil, acrylic, watercolor and
prismacolor has won awards at the Western Idaho Fair. I enjoy painting
landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, portraits and of course, motorcycles.
Living in Idaho and Oregon has given me a great appreciation for this
awesome world we live in. I'm just glad God gave me a talent to put it on
a canvas.
